Why Lobby Signage Matters

Your Lobby Sign Sets the Tone For Your Business

Most visitors form an opinion about your business within the first few seconds of walking in — and your interior signs are doing the talking. A well-built lobby sign isn't decoration; it's the first signal that you're a serious operation.

What separates a sign that commands the room from one that gets ignored is material and fabrication. Solid aluminum holds its finish for years — brushed, polished, or painted to any Pantone spec — while acrylic indoor signs deliver crisp color and are ready to ship in as little as 6–8 business days.

Redwood Group put it plainly after their lobby install: "our lobby sign turned out better than expected." That's what the right indoor signage does when the material and execution are matched to the space. We specialize in dimensional lettering and custom indoor signs for lobbies — this is our focus, not a side service.

What We Make for Lobbies

Indoor Business Signs for Every Corner of Your Space

From reception logos to interior wall signs and wayfinding, here's what we build for each part of the space.

Metal-faced acrylic interior letters — brushed aluminum with blue acrylic, West Richmond

Reception & Wall Signs For Businesses

Reception and logo wall signs are a focal point for most businesses — your logo, built dimensional and mounted on the main wall behind the desk, in acrylic, brushed metal, or painted to your brand color. Shutterfly had us produce their lobby logo sign, and their team called it a great experience start to finish. Acrylic versions ship in 6–8 business days.

Backlit & Halo-Lit Feature Signs

When a lobby needs to read premium after dark — or in a space with low ambient light — backlit and halo-lit letters make the difference. We fabricate front-lit and reverse-lit metal letters with internal LED modules. CleanEnergy Co. told us their backlit lobby sign gets daily compliments from visitors. Most metal letter sets ship in 8–12 business days.

Wayfinding & Directional Indoor Signs

Suite numbers, floor directories, restroom markers — indoor signage that directs people through your building needs to be readable at a glance and consistent with your brand. We fabricate acrylic and aluminum panels in any finish. Anodized aluminum is the right call for high-traffic corridors: the finish penetrates the surface and won't peel or chip the way painted panels eventually will.

Conference Room & Office Nameplate Signs

Conference room IDs and office nameplates are small but they add up fast — and inconsistency across a floor reads sloppy. We produce matching sets of indoor business signs in acrylic or brushed aluminum, sized to fit standard door-frame dimensions. Acrylic supports any custom font or logo and keeps costs reasonable when you're ordering a dozen or more. Lead time runs 6–8 business days.

EASIEST TO INSTALL

Logo Panel Signs
The Easiest Interior Sign To Install (and take with you)

Frosted acrylic and metal logo panel sign — Wolf Dentistry reception Metal-laminate logo on a black acrylic panel sign — Gudeman office lobby
Acrylic logo on a white acrylic panel — Azul reception wall sign

Instead of mounting each sign letter individually, we put your full logo on a single panel — clear or frosted acrylic, white or black acrylic, brushed aluminum, or painted to your color. The whole sign goes up with a handful of standoffs instead of dozens of stud holes, and it comes down just as cleanly. If you move offices or redo the lobby wall, the sign moves with you — which is why it's the option we recommend most for leased spaces.

REAL INSTALLATIONS

Interior Signs, Matched to Four Common Spaces

Four settings where we build the most interior signs — and what we recommend for each.

Brushed stainless steel fabricated metal letters on an office wall — Zoetis

Corporate Lobbies

First impressions in a corporate lobby happen in seconds. We typically recommend brushed aluminum or acrylic in the 1–1.5 inch depth range — substantial enough to read authoritative without overwhelming the wall. Indoor signs in financial and professional offices need presence without noise, and both materials deliver that without competing with the architecture.

Matte black painted acrylic dimensional lobby letters — Parachute

Retail & Showroom Floors

Retail indoor signage earns its keep by directing attention — to a brand wall, a product display, a checkout zone. Acrylic cuts cleanly in any custom font or logo shape; formed plastic is limited to preset letterforms but adds sculpted depth at a lower price point. We'll tell you which fits your budget and your floor plan.

Acrylic logo on a frosted acrylic panel sign — Coastal office lobby

Healthcare & Professional Offices

Wayfinding and identity work together in medical and professional office environments. Anodized aluminum is our go-to recommendation here — the finish penetrates the surface rather than sitting on top, so it won't chip or fade under daily contact. It costs more than painted aluminum upfront and lasts significantly longer.

Polished Brass interior sign mounted on wall - asrai garden

Restaurants & Hospitality

Lobby and common-area signs in hospitality and restaurant spaces work harder than most — guests see them before they see staff. This is where brushed brass and bronze earn their cost: they read as established in a way painted finishes can't match, and indoors they never tarnish or weather. Brass, bronze, and copper ship in 8–12 business days.

We superimpose your sign on a photo of your actual space — same day. No appointment, no waiting. Just a proof you can approve and a lead time most local shops can't touch.

National Rollouts

One Sign or Fifty — Multi-Location Packages

When a company with locations across the country needs matching signs, we build the full set in one run — identical or per-location variations — and ship each one separately, ready to install. Here's how a rollout works.

01 Bulk order of matching Takeuchi signs built together in one production run

Built in One Run

Identical across sites or varied by location — fabricated together so the whole rollout matches.

02 Takeuchi signs packaged individually for shipment to multiple locations

Packaged Individually

Every sign boxed on its own with its mounting template, hardware, and instructions.

03 Finished red acrylic clear-panel Takeuchi sign installed at one location

Shipped to Every Site

Each box goes straight to its address. Local teams open one box and install — nobody redistributes crates.

We've run multi-location packages for Takeuchi, Helping Hands, the FBI, and other national operations — and they come back every time they need signage for another location.

HOW IT WORKS

From Quote to Installed — Without the Runaround

Most customers have their indoor signs quoted, proofed, and in production within 24 hours. Here's how we get there.

1

Submit Your Request

Send us your logo or artwork — a vector file (.AI, .EPS, or .PDF) works best — through our online form or by email. Not sure what you have? Send it anyway. We’ll tell you if it works. Quote comes back within 24 hours, with pricing, a to-scale proof, and a shipping timeline.

2

Approve Your Proof

We superimpose your custom indoor sign on a photo of your actual wall so you can see exactly how it looks before production starts. Reply with ‘approved’ or request changes — no phone tag, no waiting on a rep. Orders over $1,500 qualify for a 50/50 payment split.

3

We Build and Ship

Production starts the day you approve. Acrylic indoor signage ships in 6–8 business days; solid metal runs 8–12. Every order includes a full-size mounting template, hardware, and instructions — so a handyman or your own staff can hang it without a dedicated install crew.

Better Price. Faster Turnaround. No Local Markup.

Most of our orders beat what a local sign shop quotes — and ship faster, even after transit. We quote the same day, build in 6–12 business days, and you're buying direct from the shop that makes it.

Common Questions

Interior Signs - Common Questions, Straight Answers

What materials work best for lobby signs?

Acrylic is our most popular material for indoor signs — it comes in 1/8" to 1.5" thickness, cuts to any font or logo, and holds paint and color with no fading under normal use. For a more traditional look, cast metal (bronze or aluminum) adds depth and weight that reads as permanent. Fabricated metal is the right call when you need large-format letters over 18" tall or any lighted application. The short version: acrylic for most lobbies, fabricated metal when size or light is involved.

Yes — most of our indoor business signs mount to drywall without a problem. Every order ships with a full-size paper template so you can mark stud locations and drill with confidence. Individual letters typically use standoff hardware that anchors into the drywall or, where possible, into studs behind it. For heavier fabricated metal letters, we'll note the weight in your order so you can plan accordingly. Most customers handle install themselves with a drill and a level; no lift or crew required.

Our letter materials carry a lifetime warranty against defects, fading, and cracking under normal indoor use. Acrylic doesn't yellow or delaminate the way older plastics did, and painted finishes hold color reliably — just avoid ammonia-based cleaners. In practice, indoor signage sees almost no UV or weather stress, so longevity is rarely the concern. The warranty is there if you need it; in a lobby, these signs tend to outlast the wall color around them.

We don't offer in-house installation — that keeps our prices sharp and our lead times focused. Every order ships with a full-size mounting template and hardware, and most customers or their maintenance staff handle it in under an hour. For complex or large-format projects, we can refer a local installer at no markup; billing goes directly between you and the installer. If you have a specific situation — heavy letters, unusual wall material — flag it when you order and we'll make sure the hardware is right.

Every custom indoor sign is built to order — nothing ships from stock. Each piece moves through art review, file prep, fabrication, finishing, and a quality check before it leaves. For acrylic, that's 6–8 business days; add a day or two if you're adding a painted finish. We don't take rush orders because they push back production for everyone else in the queue. If you have a hard deadline, tell us early — we can often move faster on the proof and approval side to give you more buffer.

Usually yes. Send us a vector file — .AI, .EPS, or .PDF — and we can match your font and logo exactly. For color matching, a Pantone number or a reference sample is the cleanest path. If your file isn't in vector format, conversion typically runs $20–$40. For reorders, we often have your file on record already, which speeds the process considerably. Custom indoor signs with precise brand standards are something we do regularly; it's not a special-case request.

Notify us within 5 business days of delivery and include photos — ideally photographed before you remove the packaging. We'll file the shipping claim and handle replacement or repair from there. The photo documentation is what makes the claim go smoothly, so don't skip that step. Damage in transit is uncommon but not impossible on larger pieces; the process is straightforward when you act quickly.

Our pricing is usually better than a local shop — and our lead times are faster, even after shipping. We specialize in exactly what most local companies treat as a secondary focus: architectural dimensional lettering, logos, and lighted indoor signs for lobbies and businesses. We've built more of these than a generalist shop ever will. You also get a quote and to-scale proof the same day — not after a site visit and several days of waiting. Send us photos of your space and we'll superimpose the sign on the wall so you can see the finished look before anything is manufactured.

Two things make the process faster. First, have a rough sense of size — even 'letters around 12 inches tall' helps us turn a quote faster and more accurately. Second, your artwork. A vector file (.AI, .EPS, .SVG, or .PDF) produces an accurate quote and a clean proof quickly. If you only have a PNG or JPEG, send it — we can work from that. The better the file, the faster we move. Once we have both, quotes come back within 24 hours.

Every order includes a to-scale proof before production starts. We also send material images so you can see the actual finish — not just the shape on a screen. Send photos of your space and we'll superimpose the sign on the wall in a few sizes so you can judge scale in context. If you're uncertain about a finish, order a sample first — samples ship for $10 (the sample itself is free) and that cost credits toward your order. We revise until you're confident.

Its really up to the customer. In most applications, especially interior signs, a licensed electrician is not required. All of our interior lighted signs use low voltage wiring and can be installed using our simple install process. We include instructions, wiring diagrams, power supplies, mounting hardware, and a mounting template - all of which make the process easy for anyone who is handy which could be yourself, a handyman, local contractor, or if necessary a licensed electrician or professional sign installer.
