What types of storefront signs do you make?
We build dimensional and architectural lettering for retail storefronts — halo-lit (backlit) channel letters, front-lit channel letters, solid fabricated metal letters, cast metal letters, and illuminated logo signs. If your storefront needs letters you can read from the street and a sign that holds up for years without fading or corroding, those are the product categories we specialize in. We don't do printed vinyl banners or flat decals — our focus is fabricated, dimensional signage.
What's the difference between halo-lit and front-lit for a retail storefront?
Halo-lit (backlit) letters cast a glow behind each letter against the wall — clean and upscale, especially effective at night. Front-lit letters shine outward through a translucent face — higher raw brightness, easier to read at distance in a busy retail corridor. For most retail storefronts, front-lit is the higher-visibility choice; halo-lit is the more refined choice. Lead times differ slightly: front-lit ships in 14–18 business days, halo-lit in 16–20.
Will my sign meet landlord or strip-center sign criteria?
That depends on what your landlord specifies — letter height limits, projection limits, illumination rules, color restrictions. We can't review your lease for you, but once you know the criteria, share them with us and we'll confirm whether a given sign type fits. Most retail storefront sign criteria we see are compatible with channel letters or flat-cut dimensional letters. If your building requires a permit, that's typically the tenant's responsibility — we can supply specs sheets to support the permit application.
Can you match our existing store sign or brand logo exactly?
Usually yes. Send us a vector file — .AI, .EPS, or .PDF — and we can match your logo and font exactly. For color matching, provide a Pantone number or a physical reference sample. If your file isn't in vector format, we can often convert it for $20–$40. For reorders of signs we've previously produced, we often have the file on record already, which speeds up the proof process considerably.
Why does it take 14–20 business days to produce a storefront sign?
Every sign is custom-made to order — nothing ships from inventory. Each piece goes through art review, file prep, fabrication, finishing, paint, and a quality check before it leaves our shop. Rush orders are generally not accepted because they disrupt the production sequence for other customers. If you have a hard open date, tell us early — there's more flexibility on the proof and setup side than in production itself.
Do you offer installation for retail storefront signs?
We don't have an in-house installation crew. Most customers install with a drill, level, and the full-size paper template we include with every order. For more involved projects — high fascia, multi-tenant buildings — we can refer a local installer at no markup; billing goes directly between you and the installer. We've shipped store front signs across the country and most retail operators find the install straightforward with the template.
What payment options are available?
Standard orders are paid upfront. Orders over $1,500 qualify for a 50/50 split — 50% to start, 50% before we ship. Purchase orders are accepted for government and military orders only. Want to feel the material before committing? See the sample question below.
What happens if my sign arrives damaged?
Notify us within 5 business days of delivery and include photos — ideally taken the moment you open the crate. We'll file the shipping claim and handle replacement or repair. The two things that matter most: act quickly, and photograph the damage on arrival before moving anything. Signs that ship across the country occasionally take a hit in transit; that's what the claim process is for, and we handle it for you.
Can you expedite production if I have a store-opening date?
Tell us your opening or lease date up front and we'll tell you honestly whether standard production makes it — 14–18 business days for front-lit letters, 16–20 for halo-lit. Rush orders are generally not accepted because they disrupt the production sequence for every other customer, so the real lever is speed on your side: send artwork early and approve your proof fast, and production starts sooner. We'd rather quote a realistic timeline than promise one we can't ship.
How do I know what size storefront sign to order?
Two numbers drive the decision: available wall space and viewing distance. The general rule is 1 inch of letter height reads from roughly 20 feet — so 6" letters cover about 120 feet, 10" letters about 200 feet. For wall clearance, plan for 5–10% clear space on each side of the sign. On a 10-foot wall section, that's 6–12 inches on each side. Send us a photo of your storefront and we'll superimpose the sign on the wall in multiple sizes so you can see the difference before you commit to anything.
Can I see a sample of the material before I order?
Yes — you can order up to three material or finish samples. They ship for $20 with a prepaid return label in the box. Order a sign and the full $20 credits back toward your order; send the samples back without ordering and we refund $10 — the other $10 covers two-way shipping. Samples are the best way to confirm a finish before you commit, especially for specialty options like oxidized bronze or anodized aluminum, where screen color and real-world light behave very differently.
